ANP sees nepotism in KP's bureaucratic reshuffle

25 Jun, 2018

ANP's general secretary, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has expressed concern over nepotism and favoritism in the reshuffling of bureaucracy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and termed it failure of the interim government and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). In a statement, he said that the drama of the posting and transfers has been staged to hoodwink the people as only the districts of the blue-eyed officers of the previous government have been changed.
On the other hand, he said that the interim government in Punjab has sidelined nearly 60 political favourite officers, but in KP neither any step has been taken nor anyone has been made OSD so far. He said that if the ECP is really interested in holding transparent polls then it should review the recent transfers and postings.
The ANP stalwart also asked the caretaker government to acknowledge the seriousness of the matter and take stern notice of it. He said that no sidelining of the politically influential officers can raise question marks on the transparency of elections.
Mian Iftikhar asked the government to search out solution to the issue without wasting time while the ECP should exhibit impartiality by removing all politically backed officers and bureaucrats and replace them with impartial ones. He warned that pre-poll rigging will not be tolerated in any circumstances.
