PML-N candidate arrested by NAB

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore arrested Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's Qamarul Islam in connection with Saaf Pani Company corruption case on Monday, a day after PML-N fielded him to contest election against Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan from NA-59 Rawalpindi-III Engr Qamarul Islam, who has served as the chairman of the Saaf Pani Company, is accused of having awarded contracts for 84 water treatment plants at a higher price.
The NAB authorities said he misused his position and awarded contracts at a higher rate. On the other hand, PML-N's Quaid Nawaz Sharif said he was upset since he heard news of his arrest. Interestingly, Ch Nisar also condemned the NAB action against his rival candidate, saying it could make the electoral process controversial.
