Dar's medical report submitted in SC

26 Jun, 2018

A new medical report of former finance minister Ishaq Dar was submitted in the Supreme Court on Monday which states that he has not fully recovered. The report maintained that Dar's condition has improved by 10-15 percent but pain still exists in his arms due to which he could not return home to appear before the court.
It said the movement of his neck is quite limited and he suffers discomfort due to pain. The medics have suggested additional eight weeks physiotherapy of the former minister in the medical report. "After two months, a new MRI of Dar will be conducted. If his condition did not improve, the option of surgery will be reconsidered," said the report. The report dated June 8, 2018 has been prepared by neurosurgeon Richard Galan.
On the other hand, over the weekend Dar was spotted walking in London streets. The journalists working for Pakistani media outlets posed tough questions to the former finance minister, but he managed to walk away avoiding the questions.
On Monday, Dar had to face journalists again when he was going back from the hospital where Kulsoom Nawaz is undergoing cancer treatment. When asked about his return to the country, he said either he should act upon the advice of the medics or leave for Pakistan on the advice of the journalists.
"You [journalists] tell what should I do... shall I listen to you or to the doctors. So I've sent my medical reports which will be presented in the courts," he added. Dar was declared an absconder by an accountability court after failing to appear in a reference pertaining to have assets beyond income.
