Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Fawad Chaudhry on Monday appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to provide justice to the affectees of Eden Housing Society and to take action against culprits involved in corruption.
While addressing a press conference, he claimed that former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry and his family members are involved in the fraud and thus they should be arrested and investigated. He also claimed that 6311 petitions have been filed against the Eden Housing Society with the NAB, but none of them have been heard till this day. "This is due to former chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry," he alleged. He also questioned the properties owned by the former chief justice and added that how is he managing a luxury lifestyle. He also appealed to the (Election Commission of Pakistan) to increase the polling time on the day of elections due to extreme hot weather. It should start at 7 am and conclude at 8 pm.
The PTI spokesperson stated that the party does not accept the caretaker Punjab government's recent transfers and postings of bureaucrats as officers close to the PML-N have been posted; it seems the government has not done its homework. "The recent postings should be reviewed," he added. "A similar situation exists in Sindh where it seems the bureaucracy has been shuffled on the orders of PPP chief Asif Ali Zardari. Fazlullah Pechuho, brother-in-law of Asif Ali Zardari, is still serving in Sindh as a secretary whereas he should have been posted somewhere out of the city," he added. He also demanded registration of a case against former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for allegedly helping former finance minister Ishaq Dar to flee the country in his plane.
