Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that a reconciliation process has been initiated with disgruntled party workers and he has also appealed them to get united under the leadership of Imran Khan to strengthen his position.
While talking to media on Thursday, he said it is a duty of the party leadership to address the grievances of the party workers. "Imran Khan is personally listening to the party workers and he will address their grievances," he added.
Qureshi observed that in an ideal situation all workers should get a party ticket but it does not happen in reality.
He said like other political parties the PTI is also facing similar situation regarding distribution of party tickets. "The situation is manageable and they are doing their best to manage it," he added. He urged both the party ticket-holders and others to stand united and work together to promote the party's vision.
To a question, he maintained that he has no differences with PTI senior leader Jehangir Tareen. He added that they do have different political views and thus indulge in a political debate, but ultimately stand united for a big purpose after developing a consensus.
To another question, he stated that Imran Khan is the only candidate for the premiership from the PTI who deserves that position. "The PML-N party workers and the people in Punjab are disappointed with the performance of previous Punjab government led by Shehbaz Sharif, which was very poor. Hence, the Punjab is ready for a change," he added.
