29 Jun, 2018

Due to a sudden power outage at the Dhabeji pumping station in Thatta, a water supply line burst and work is currently under way to repair it. Dhabeji is one of the main sources of water supply to Karachi. Water supply to Karachi through that line has been suspended until it is repaired. The line is expected to be repaired in 24 hours. Heavy machinery and staff have arrived at the scene to take part in the repair work.
Karachi Water and Sewerage Board Managing Director Khalid Sheikh expressed his hope that the line will be fixed within 24 hours so that there will not be a great disturbance in the supply of water to Karachi. He said water is being supplied to the city via alternative supply lines.
