PPP and Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) of Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao have announced seat adjustment on the two provincial assembly seats of District Shangla. Under the arrangement, the QWP candidate from the provincial assembly constituency PK-23 Shangla-I has withdrawn in favour of the PPP candidate, Dr Afsar-ul-Mulk while on the second seat PK-24 Shangla-II, the PPP nominated candidate Zaidullah Khan has withdrawn in support of the QWP candidate Dr Sajjad Ahmad Khan.
Both political parties made this announcement during a press conference at Alpuri, Shangla on Friday. Those present on the occasion were included Fawad Ali Noor, Haji Bakht Zamin, Mohammad Rasheed, Zulfikar Ali, Ghulamullah while Najibullah Khan, Mohabat Shah and Haji Muambar Khan of QWP.
Addressing the press conference, PPP's district president and candidate from PK-23 Dr Afsar-ul-Mulk said both parties have big vote bank in the district and they would have to learn from their past mistakes.
He said steps taken by the QWP chief Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao for the development of district Shangla are hidden from no one. He also declared Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao as his political teacher. He said though he has political differences with the senior politician, but had always given him respect and honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the district president QWP and candidate from PK-24 Shangla, Dr Sajjad Ahmad Khan said the seat adjustment between both political parties will be a milestone in the success on both seats of the district.
