Pakistan-China ties based on strong foundation: Consul General

The relations between Pakistan and China are based on strong foundation. These views were expressed by the Consul General of China in Karachi Wang Yu while speaking at a launching ceremony of a book titled Amazing China authored by Manzar Naqvi at a local hotel on Sunday.
The Chinese Consul General said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is an important project to increase trading activities in this region. This project would be beneficial for both Pakistan and China. He said China has become stronger in last five years with average annual GDP growth of 7.5 percent.
China has become second largest economy in the world and its share in global economy has increased to 30 percent. He said Pak-China cooperation also increased in last five years and China is helping Pakistan in setting up much needed power generation and infrastructure projects.
Speaking on the occasion the Deputy Managing Director of Pakistan Stock Exchange You Hang said that a Chinese consortium had acquired 40 percent stake in Pakistan Stock Exchange. "One year's experience makes me realize how great the potential of PSX is", he said. Nasim Beg Vice Chairman Arif Habib Corporation, senior journalists Akhlaq Ahmed, Agha Masood Hussain, Mubashir Mir, Manzar Naqvi and other also spoke on this occasion.
