Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, convener Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)-Pakistan on Tuesday said that workers of the PSP, who switched over their loyalties under duress, are now coming back to the party-fold of MQM-P. A large number of workers and office-bearers of the party would be returning to MQM in the coming days and party would welcome them, Dr Siddiqui stated at a press conference where workers and office-bearers of Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) joined MQM-Pakistan.
Dr Siddiuqi accompanied by members of coordination committee of the MQM, including Faisal Sabzwari and others said that these people were made to change their loyalties forcibly but now they came back to the fold of the party believing in the philosophy and ideology of the MQM. He claimed that MQM never indulged in the policies to pressurize the workers of the party in changing their loyalties through strong arm tactics but attracted the people through its ideology.
MQM Convener showed concern over the arrest of leader of party Javed Hanif by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and said that his only sin was giving the jobs to the people. He termed it a double standard and said that no action was taken against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), whose government made illegal appointments in the government departments during its ten-year rule in Sindh.
He appealed to Chief of Army Staff and Chief Justice of Pakistan to take the notice of arrest of Javed Hanif and demanded that action should be taken against PPP ministers, who allegedly inducted many people illegally. On the occasion, Faisal Sabzwari said the MQM would sweep the polls in Karachi on July 25 and would defeat those elements, who want to loot Karachi.
