Shahrukh's cousin withdraws papers in favour of ANP candidate

A cousin of Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, Noor Jehan, who is contesting general elections independently on PK-77 constituency Peshawar, on Tuesday announced to withdraw her nomination paper in favour of Awami National Party (ANP) candidate, Mohammad Umar Mohmand. She made this announcement during a press conference at Peshawar Press Club, wherein Party City President Ghulam Mustafa, candidate for PK-77, Muhammad Umar Mohmand; candidate for PK-78, Haroon Bilour and other local leaders were also present.
Noor Jehan said that she has remained affiliated with Awami National Party for long time. She said that an ANP Jirga met her after which she decided to withdraw her nomination paper in favour of the party nominated candidate on PK-77, Muhammad Umar Mohmand.
Flanked by family members, friends and supporters, Noor Jehan said that she didn't seek ticket from ANP, but I remained away from the party due to some minor reservations. However, she said her concerns have been addressed by the party leadership, so she along with family and supporters will fully back the ANP candidates in the upcoming general elections.
She urged the masses to support the ANP candidates Haroon Bilour and Muhammad Umar Mohmand in general elections which is scheduled to be held on July 25.
Later, speaking on this occasion, ANP city president, Ghulam Mustafa expressed serious reservations over non-transfer of senior bureaucrats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which might influence the results of the general elections. He said that senior bureaucrats transferred to others districts by the caretaker government should be transferred to other provinces for transparency and fairness in the upcoming elections.
