Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has identified 354 buildings to be at verge of collapse and therefore dangerous to be occupied by citizens. In a warning issued prior to onset of monsoons the concerned authorities urging people to abandon such buildings warned that these dilapidated structures mainly located in downtown Saddar are also an equal threat to many of the adjacent buildings.
It was emphasized that several of such dangerous structures have been torn down by the authorities, however, there still exist a sizable numbers being used as home for sizable number of families.
Sincere attempts were claimed being made to get these vacated with equal attention to seek support of concerned quarters to convince people about their vulnerability.
