Sacrifices of Swat police to be written in golden words: IGP

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Tahir has said that the sacrifices rendered by Swat police in the ongoing war against terror would be written in golden words in the history.
This, he stated, while addressing a Police Darbar at Swat Police Lines Wednesday which was largely attended by every rank officer and jawan of different units and wings of Malakand Region police.
DIG Malakand, DPOs Swat, Buner, Lower Dir, Upper Dir and Chitral were also present on this occasion. The police chief informed the participants that the performance exhibited by KP police particularly Swat police in the war against terror was worth emulating added that the name and fame earned by KP Police while fighting terrorism would be kept further aloof.
He said that durable peace and tranquility had been restored in Swat scenic valley and tourists are thronging there in large number which bespoke volume of the peaceful atmosphere in the area.
The IGP pointed out that it was prime responsibility and national obligation of the police force to provide congenial atmosphere to the voters to use their right of adult franchise in favour of their candidate.
In this connection the participants were directed to ensure implementation of election commission's code of conduct in its true spirit and perform its important duty irrespective of friendship, relations and other political affiliation and win the hearts and minds of the public through decent behaviour.
The IGP hoped that police will leave no stone unturned for ensuring peaceful election process in whole Malakand Region. In the darbar, police jawans also presented their confronting problems.
The IGP listened them sympathetically and issued instructions for its solution on the spot. In the darbar, the IGP also awarded police officers and jawans who excelled against miscreants and out laws in line of duty during different police actions from time to time.
