Business leaders Abdul Rahim Janu and Yahya Polani joined Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the presence of Chairman PTI Imran Khan here on Wednesday. Addressing media persons at the residence of a local trader, Imran Khan said that he has decided to contest election from Karachi to make a city better place to live. He said that Karachi is an economic hub of the country and it should be developed to put the country on the path of development.
Imran Khan said the PTI has concrete plan to resolve water crises of the city. "We have chalked out a plan for smooth supply of water to the city. We would use garbage to generate electricity and the desalination plants would be run with waste-to-energy," the chairman PTI said.
He said greatness of the country could only be achieved with development of Karachi. He said former rulers have destroyed the economy of the country. "The country is under severe debts," he added.
He said that recent monsoon rains in Punjab have exposed the tall claims of Shahbaz Sharif about development of Lahore in particular and Punjab in general.
