In a very upbeat mood, legendary former cricketer Javed Miandad on Saturday prepared and sent a sweet Pan (Betel Leaf) for former cricket Captain and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan as a present wishing him good luck for the upcoming elections. The former batsman prepared a Pan for senior PTI leader Ali Zaidi and fed him with his own hand and another for Imran Khan, his friend for more than 40 years.
Javed Miandad said his famous six on last ball which led Pakistan to victory against India in Sharjah was also hit after consuming a Pan. The PTI leader from Karachi has been running campaign against President Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif for his unwarranted mockery of pan (a traditional specialty of Karachi) and accent of Karachiites in his recent visit to the city of Quaid.
Miandad also wished Ali Zaidi good luck in his electoral race in the megapolis.
Zaidi responded with this tweet, "Thank you Javed bhai for all your support. You have always been a wonderful friend. I promise to fight for Pakistan just as hard as you and Imran Khan did when you wore the green cap! Insh'Allah, we will win this match as well PakistanZindabad WazeereAzamImranKhan NA244AliZaidiKa,"
The kind of emotions Shehbaz whisked are certainly not going to get him votes from 'Karanchi' (Karachi). The former chief minister Punjab has left behind a profound impression of negativity in the minds of Karachiites. Shehbaz Sharif in his witticism reached to a humiliating level by demeaning the traditional practice of eating 'Pan' (Betel Leaf) and mocking the accent of Karachi locals.
