Nawaz asks ECP to take matters into its own hands

11 Jul, 2018

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday urged the Election Commission of Pakistan to take all affairs regarding Elections 2018 into its owns hands because only the ECP had the mandate to conduct elections, and no one else could do this. "We'll not accept any institution's interference in elections," he said, talking to the media in London.
According to Aaj News, Nawaz alerted that whatever happening today, was detrimental to the electoral process. He warned that their patience should not be tested any more. He said they were seeing which political party was getting the better end of the deal. He said action is being taken specifically against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz
Nawaz claimed PML-N's members were made to re-align with Imran Khan's party. He said his party and the nation would not accept these things in any case. "What wrong have we done? We made Pakistan a nuclear state; we are patriotic individuals," he said, asking who else could be a bigger patriot than him.
