Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday said the people of Lahore will take revenge from Imran Khan and his party PTI on July 25, for causing unnecessary delay to Lahore Orange Train Project. Addressing a convention of local bodies' representatives on Wednesday, Shahbaz said PTI moved a writ petition in the LHC which took 16 months and afterward the PTI's Waleed Iqbal approached the Supreme Court, which delayed this project of public welfare.
Shahbaz slammed Imran Khan labeling him as "Ilzam Khan" and "Behtan Khan" and said he (Imran) had no concern with public issues, he just levelled allegations and also used to tell lies for his vested interest. "This man cannot be made as PM," he said.
He told the jubilant PML-N activists that the PML-N under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif worked day and night and produced 11,000MW of electricity. If voted to power, the PML-N government would slash electricity tariff and devote all energies and resources for the welfare of masses.
Criticising Imran Khan, the PML-N president said "Ilzam Khan made tall claims but delivered nothing to the people of the KPK. He used to criticize Metro Bus but fail to accomplish the project in Peshawar causing miseries to the people.
Shahbaz said Nawaz Sharif appeared before the accountability court whenever he was summoned. He said Nawaz Sharif made atomic explosions despite the then US President Bill Clinton offer of US $5 billion. "Nawaz refused him and made Pakistan a nuclear power," he added.
He said that there are cases pending before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from more than a decade but no action has been taken on them yet.
"A decision was given by the NAB court while another decision will be given by the masses on July 25," he said, adding: "Nawaz is leaving his ailing wife to return to Pakistan. He is coming back for the people of this country on July 13."
The PML-N leader said that Nawaz was sentenced to prison on the sole basis of assumptions and the judge of the court mentioned in his decision that prosecution fail to prove corruption against the accused. Shahbaz also expressed sorrow over the loss of precious lives including ANP candidate Haroon Ahmad Bilour in Peshawar blast. He also offered prayers on the occasion for the eternal peace of departed souls.
