Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari's decision to bring his own security to Peshawar raises questions about PPP's apparent lack of trust in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police. PPP chairman, who reached Peshawar on Friday, brought with him a contingent of the Sindh police's Special Security Unit that replaced KP police deployed at Arbab House for security during his stay.
Bilawal also postponed his election rally in Malakand on Saturday. He said that people and party workers in Malakand had been expecting him to visit the area but he "does not want to put their lives at risk."
PPP chairman has also been advised not to leave Peshawar's Cantt area. Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has strongly condemned the arrest of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supporters on the occasion of ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif's arrival.
In a twitter post, Bilawal asked, "On what grounds are PML-N workers and leaders being arrested? Why is Lahore under siege?" He stated that arrest of former PM Nawaz Sharif after NAB conviction is legal but PML-N workers' detentions should be clarified.
