Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said that Asif Ali Zardari is the best choice for prime minister if a coalition government is formed following the July 25 general election.
Addressing a news conference here on Tuesday, Bilawal said, "The best choice in the scenario of a coalition government is former President Asif Ali Zardari for the candidature of premiership. He (Asif Ali Zardari) has experience of coalition government." He further said, "Asif Ali Zardari is the best choice as it is most likely that there will be a coalition government as a result of the elections."
Bilawal strongly condemned the politics of abusive and foul language, as some politicians are making derogatory comments against their opponents in public addresses during electioneering. The PPP chairman said, "The current low-level of politics is very dangerous for the future of our country. We should teach the youth to contribute in a positive way. We should not teach them to psychically attack people instead of going for a battle of ideas."
About Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan and President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shahbaz Sharif, Bilawal said, "If prominent leaders engage in such exchanges then the youth will think that this is how one is supposed to act. Our country cannot afford this kind of politics."
He said that his mother [Benazir Bhutto] taught him, "How you conduct yourself in life is how you will be taken." Answering a question, Bilawal said that is the right of political parties to criticize their opponents but it should be within limits. He said the main focus of parties should be on issues and they should present their plans and manifestos before the masses.
When asked about his party's position in Punjab province, Bilawal said his party will show good performance in the province. Answering another question, Bilawal said that his party's manifesto and ideology is receiving good response from the masses. He said that he was focused on measures towards implementation of party manifesto and resolution to public problems. He said that this motto is not election-specific rather it is his mission.
The PPP chairman said, "When my party's members and I will become part of the Parliament, we will try our best to resolve the issues of the people. We need to appraise the nation of the problems the country is facing because if we do not involve the public then how we will get out of these problems."
Later while addressing party's rallies in Bhara Kahu and Rawat areas of Islamabad, Bilawal said that he would fulfill the promises when his party comes into power. He said that the party has always battled poverty and gave the example of Benazir Income Support Programme.
