A threat is there to political leaders, admits minister

Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Ahmed Waqas Riaz has said that there is a threat to some political leaders who have also been informed and the Punjab government is ready to provide maximum security facilities to them.
Talking to the media here on Thursday, Ahmed Waqas Riaz said that it is also the duty of political leaders to minimize their movement and make secure themselves as well. He said that caretaker government has already taken necessary measures in this regard and main leaders are being provided box security. The minister said that implementation on the code of conduct given by the Election Commission is the basic duty of the present government and it would be implemented without any discrimination.
Ahmed Waqas Riaz took part in tree plantation along with journalists outside Qaddafi Stadium where he also planted a sapling. He said that awareness should be created among masses to plant maximum trees for the betterment of environment as it would also help in decreasing the temperature. He lauded the role of the print and the electronic media in this regard.
Earlier, the minister attended the award giving ceremony of Public Art and Literary Society as a chief guest in which different personalities relating to the art and culture were given shields. Executive Editor Alhamra Capt Atta Mohammad Khan(retd), Society President Maqbool Chohan, Anwar Rafie and the grand-daughter of Sufi Tabbassum and important personalities attended this function.
