The Caretaker Prime Minister Nasir-ul-Mulk in a meeting with the interim Chief Minister Dr Hasan Askari, here at Governor's House Thursday reiterated the commitment of ensuring holding of free, fair and transparent elections. During the meeting, different matters of mutual interest including arrangements regarding upcoming elections and other important issues came under discussion.
On the occasion, Dr Askari informed the PM that arrangements are being completed for peaceful holding of elections in the province and the concerned departments and other agencies are rendering their duties in a professional manner. He said that holding of impartial elections is a collective responsibility and by the grace of Allah Almighty this important responsibility will be fulfilled by working as a team.
The provincial cabinet ministers also met the interim PM at Governor's House. Talking on the occasion, Nasir-ul-Mulk said that the caretaker government is committed for holding transparent and impartial elections. "I am happy that caretaker government in Punjab is performing its duties in a professional and neutral manner," Mulk said, adding: "Best arrangements have been made to ensure holding of transparent elections and we all have to perform responsibility to hold fair elections as a team."
Talking on the occasion, Dr Askari said that caretaker government in Punjab is fully focused on transparent, impartial and free elections. "I am personally monitoring the elections related arrangements by visiting different cities. I am also conducting visits to improve the law and order situation. The administration and police is totally neutral in Punjab," he added.
