A team of doctors of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Friday visited former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at Adiala Jail and carried out his medical examination. A four-member medical team constituted by PIMS on July 23 after Sharif fell ill in Adiala Jail on July 22. Since July 23, the team of doctors has been continuously monitoring health condition of the former premier and so far it has conducted various tests including blood test, ECG, echocardiogram (echo), cardiography tests and ultrasound, an official source said.
The panel of doctors led by Joint Executive Director PIMS Dr Ijaz Qadeer comprised Dr Shajee Ahmad Siddiqui, professor of general medicine, Dr Muhammad Naeem Malik, head of cardiology department, Dr Sohail Tanveer, head of nephrology department, and Dr Mashook Ali, head of gastroenterology department. They visited Adiala Jail along with a mobile laboratory.
