CSWA holds community exposure visit at SAU

The number of women from rural area Malkani, District Badin, visited various departments of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU). SAU director UA 7 FA Prof Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar welcomed all the participants during their visit to Department of Agronomy, Institute of Food Science and Technology and SAU Horticulture Garden.
Prof Ismail briefed the participants about the SAU achievements and job opportunities for rural women. He highlighted the importance of the rural women enterprise groups and advised the visitors to set up rural women enterprise groups for collective agriculture production, processing and marketing of their products.
He said poverty can be elevated through various income generation programmes at gross root level. Ashar Nasir, Project Coordinator, Community World Services Asia (CSWA) briefed that the community world services working in the rural area of district Badin especially UC Khairpur Gambo and UC Pangrio.
The target group is focused on especially rural women and he added that through the community engagement the CSWA has empowered youth men and women in agri farm management. He appreciated the efforts of the technical team of SAU Tandojam for providing expertise in agriculture technology transfer.
