Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has been declared winner from NA-131 (Lahore) after recounting of 2835 votes at the request of Khawaja Saad Rafiq, PML-N's contestant, Aaj News reported on Saturday. After the vote recounting, Imran was voted 84,313 while Saad Rafiq 83,711; hence, PTI's head won the seat by 602 votes.
Saad Rafiq was irked by rejection of his request for reopening of the entire constituency results. He said Imran's lead was reduced and his 78 votes were increased after the recount; therefore total recount could change the decision. He said rejection of his plea is injustice because PML-N's Ayaz Sadiq got over 7500 votes more than his closest rival contender but his rival's request to reopen the constituency results was accepted and his margin was very narrow but his request was turned down.
