Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) president Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal on Thursday put forward several demands before Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) for inclusion in the coalition government. PTI chairman's spokesperson Naeemul Haq and leader Yar Muhammad Rind met with Mengal at Balochistan House in Islamabad.
"I am thankful for the arrival of Naeemul Haq and Yar Muhammad Rind. PTI wants us to join the political alliance while we also wish to take the mandate of our people to assemblies. We will offer our full support following complete assurance to fulfil demands. We have not been invited to APC. If called, we will put our problems in front of them," asserted Mengal while speaking to the media.
"We have presented issues faced by Balochistan before PTI today. Our aim is not to sit in assembly for personal gains," said Mengal. "We stick to our rules and make our own decisions. If we sit in the opposition we will do it mutually. Whoever accepts our demands, we will support them," added the BNP-M leader.
PTI leaders termed the meeting positive and expressed hope of a meeting between Mengal and Imran Khan soon.
"The meeting went smoothly. Imran Khan is going to become the prime minister of Pakistan. The demands of Akhtar Mengal are new. I assure him that Khan will be the only premier who will provide the Balochistan its rights. The demands will be conveyed to the PTI chairman," declared Naeem-ul-Haq.
The issues raised by Mengal included recovery of missing persons and rights of Balochistan people among others.
