ISLAMABAD: The British High Commissioner Thomas Drew has wished Pakistan a Happy New Year.

Speaking on New Year’s Eve, he said: “On behalf of everyone at the British High Commission, I would like to wish all of our friends in Pakistan a very happy new year. We have a lot to look forward to.

My personal highlights will include this summer’s Cricket World Cup, when we look forward to welcoming a strong Pakistan team to England and Wales, and the return of British Airways to Pakistan in June.

Most importantly, I wish everyone a peaceful, prosperous and healthy 2019.”
