Shaheen Air International (SAI) has finally approached Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to airlift stranded passengers from Chinese port city, Guangzhou. Zohaib Hassan, Director Marketing, SAI said that airline in consultation with Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has contacted PIA on this issue and sent the request for commercial terms.
He said that airline would reveal its further line of action after getting response from the national flag carrier. Earlier, PCAA has allowed SAI to operate required number of flights for bringing stranded passengers back from Chinese port city, Guangzhou.
Needless to mention, on August 2, 2018, PCAA has granted special permission to SAI for operating two flights to Guangzhou to bring stranded Pakistani passengers back in the country. However, the flight NL 892 was later stopped by the authority, due to fitness issue. Around 262 Pakistani passengers are stranded in Guangzhou, China since the cancellation of SAI flight on July 29, due to PCAA restriction over non-payment of outstanding dues of Rs 1.5 billion.
