Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain will contest the by-poll from NA-65 (Chakwal-II) which will be vacated by his cousin Chaudhry Pervez Elahi after his election from two NA seats in the 2018 general election.
Former MNA Sardar Mumtaz Tamman has forced Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain to contest NA-65 Talagang by-election in his place. As per accord, Sardar Mumtaz Tamman was to contest on the seat to be vacated by Elahi but Tamman has changed his decision.
Mumtaz Tamman in a meeting with Chaudhry brothers emphasized that in the prevailing national circumstances it is necessary that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain should go to the National Assembly because he will help tackle the challenges, the country was facing at present.
On this occasion, MPA-elect Hafiz Ammar Yasir, Salik Hussain, Rasikh Elahi, Malik Muhammad Amir Khan Tamman, Haji Riaz Awan, Haji Malik Qutub Khan and Shaikh Saeed were also present.
Tamman told media that it is in the national interest to bring Shujaat to the parliament as presence of a leader of his stature is need of the hour. Ch Shujaat said that in the 2018 general election Sardar Mumtaz Tamman fully supported us. "We are highly grateful to Sardar Sahib, his family, colleagues, workers and supporters for vacating his seat in my favour," he said. "If elected I will come up to expectations of the people of the constituency."
