Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday revealed that his granddaughter saved from her pocket money to donate for the construction of dams in the country.
Addressing lawyers at Multan Bar, the CJP revealed that few days ago, his granddaughter came to him and gave him an envelope. "As I asked what is it? The little girl said that this is for construction of dams in Pakistan. The envelope had an amount of Rs 7030," said the CJP amid a round of applause from the lawyers.
Terming the recent incident of burning schools in Gilgit-Baltistan a "conspiracy against construction of dams", the CJP vowed to thwart all the conspiracies against the construction of water reservoirs in the country as the resolving the crisis is a matter of life and death. The Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand dam fund 2018 fund was established by the federal government in pursuance of a Supreme Court order for raising funds for the construction of the two dams. CJP Saqib Nisar was the first to donate money for the fund. On July 5, he deposited Rs 1Million as donation in the account titled "DIAMER BASHA AND MOHMAND DAM FUND-2018.
