Imran's step-daughter, her friend join PTI

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan's step-daughter is among the two new members who joined the party on Monday. Mehru Hayat, daughter of Imran's wife Bushra Imran Khan, and her friend Farah Khan congratulated the prime minister-designate for his party's victory in July 25 election and expressed contentment over the party's leadership and manifesto.
Crediting Imran for revoking political understanding in youth, Mehru said Khan has the ability to pull the country out of the crisis. Mehru's induction in PTI raises pertinent questions over nepotism in the party ranks since Imran has vehemently opposed nepotism and dynastic politics.
Ahead of July 25 elections, dismayed PTI workers and activists had criticized party leadership for the way electoral tickets were awarded and protested outside Imran's Banigala residence until he promised to rework the list himself.
