Eid-ul-Azha may take place on August 22

The Met Office has forecast a 'fair chance' of Zilhij moon sighting on August 12, indicating Eid-ul-Azha is taking place on Wednesday, August 22. The new moon of Zilhij (1439 AH) will be born on crossing conjunction point on August 11 at 2:59 pm. According to the astronomical parameters, there is a fair chance of sighting the new moon of Zilhij on the evening of August 12 i.e. on Ziquad 29, the Met said.
According to the climate record, it said, the weather is expected to be fair or partly cloudy in the most parts of the country on the moon sighting evening.
