Caretaker Home Minister Punjab Shaukat Javed has said that protection of life of the citizens is the top priority of the Punjab government. Police reforms are indispensable for better policing. Registration of FIR is the right of a complainant. Police should ensure to facilitate the genuine complainants swiftly. In present general elections, the police has discharged its duties with such a dedication and discipline that it has no paradigm in past. Use of modern technology in crime fighting and training of police officers and officials on newest lines is necessary for the betterment of police department.
He said this while visiting the Central Police Office, here on Wednesday. Other high police officers were also present on this occasion. IGP brief the Minister about Youm-e-Azadi, Eid-ul-Azha and Muharram security plans. Shaukat Javed said that protection of masses is a sacred duty, therefore police should discharge its duties with full passion.
He said that Punjab police is professionally sound and excellent force which has full capacity to meet all law & order challenges. He said that the efficiency of the police force is quiet evident from the peaceful conduct of general elections. He stressed upon the officers to keep the pace up while performing their duties in future.
Shaukat Javed showed his satisfaction over the security arrangements for the upcoming mega events of Youm-e-Azadi, Eid-ul-Azha and Muharram-ul-Haraam. At the end, the IGP presented shield to the Home Minister.
