The prime minister-designate Imran Khan was all praise for Habib Bank Limited (HBL) and expressed hope that it will play its due role in economic development of the country. "Your bank [HBL] is the largest bank of the country," a statement issued by PTI's media cell quoted the premier-in-waiting as saying during a meeting with Sultan Ali Allana HBL Chairman, who called on him at his sprawling Banigala residence to congratulate him on his party's victory in July 25 general elections. Allana is considered to be a leading figure in Pakistan's financial landscape. Since 2004, he has led the Board of HBL as a representative of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development, of which he is a director. He also has the oversight responsibilities for AKFED's investments in banking, insurance and aviation.
Allana is a career banking professional with over 32 years of experience in retail, corporate and investment banking.
