The Speaker Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, Ali Larijani telephoned the newly elected Speaker National Assembly, Asad Qaiser on Thursday and congratulated him on his election as Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan.
The Speaker National thanked the Ali Larijani and urged upon the need for close contacts between the Parliaments of both the countries for cementing bilateral relations.
He said that close contacts between Pakistan and Iran were imperative for peace and stability of the region, said a press release issued here on Thursday.
Ali Larijani termed the peaceful transition of power in Pakistan a good omen for strengthening democratic institutions in the country and expressed the hope that newly elected Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Asad Qaiser would play significant role to enhance the relations between the Parliaments of both brotherly countries. Ali Larijani invited Asad Qaiser to visit Iran while in reciprocating Asad Qaiser invited the Iranian Speaker to visit Pakistan.-PR
