The number of 3G and 4G users in Pakistan reached 57.32 million by end-July 2018, said Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). The number of mobile phone users in Pakistan reached 150.55 million by end-July 2018 compared to 150.24 by end-June 2018, which registered an increase of 0.31 million during the period under review.
Jazz''s total count for 3G users stood at 15.038 million by end-July compared to 14.83 million by end-June, registering an increase of 0.208 million. Jazz 4G user numbers jumped from 4,376,394 by end-June 2018 to 4,601,586 by end-July 2018.
Zong 3G subscribers decreased from 9.267 million by end-June to 9.228 million by end-July while the number of 4G users jumped from 7,353,105 by end-June to 7,761,412 by end-July.
The number of 3G users of Telenor network decreased from 10.511 million by end-June to 10.314 million by end-July 2018. The number of 4G users jumped from 3,115,119 by end-June to 3,315,326 by end-July 2018.
Ufone added 0.43 million 3G users on its network during the month of July as the total number reached 7.060 million by end-July 2018 compared to 6.630 million by end-June.
Teledensity for cellular mobile increased to 72.83 percent compared to 72.81 and number of broadband subscribers reached 59,549,253 by end-July compared to 58,339,814 by end-June 2018.
The PTA received 3,999 complaints from telecom consumers against different telecom operators including (cellular operators, PTCL, LDIs, WLL operators and ISPs) as of July 2018.
According to PTA data, the PTCL leads the chart with 1,287 complaints and Jazz (Mobilink + Warid) stands at second position with 925 complaints.
The PTA said that it was able to get 3,974 complaints resolved, i.e, 99.37 percent.
Cellular mobile subscribers constitute a major part of overall telecom subscriber base, therefore, maximum number of complaints belong to this segment. Total number of complaints against CMOs by July 2018 stood at 2,639.
In terms of the segregation of complaints on operator basis, a total of 925 complaints were received against Jazz which is 35.051% of the total CMO related complaints.
Telenor, which has the second largest number of consumers, was second with 711 complaints, i.e, 26.94 percent.
Zong stood third with 533 complaints, i.e, 20.19 percent of total complaints.
Ufone had 470 complaints against its various services which make up 17.80 percent of the total CMO related complaints.
