Eid holidays: CTP finalises foolproof security arrangements

Islamabad Capital Territory Police Monday finalized all arrangements to ensure foolproof security in the federal capital during Eid holidays from August 21 to 23. As many as 2,000 policemen have been deployed across the capital to maintain law and order during Eidul Azha, said a press release issued here on Monday.
According to detail, Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Najeeb-ur-Rehman Bugvi finalized the security program in a meeting, which was attended by SP Investigation, Zonal SPs, Sub divisional Police officials, all SHOs of police stations and other officials.
The security personnel will be deployed on five open Eid congregations, 966 Mosques, 17 Imambargahs, public places and other important buildings to thwart any untoward incident. Police commodes will also perform duties during Eid days. The citizen had been advised not to park their vehicles near masques, imambaraghs and Eid congregations. Najeebur Rehman Bugvi issued directives to all police officials to tighten the security in their respective areas and enhance the patrolling.
He asked the police to ensure effective combing at all exit and entry points of the capital, warning that strict action would be taken against those found involved in showing negligence while performing their duties.
He also directed the police to install CCTV cameras and ensure coordinated efforts with citizens to avoid any unwarranted incident. As a part of security measures, police have been directed to keep checking at all important entry and exit points. He also directed police to check suspicious motorcyclists for the security purpose.
Besides the security plan, the Islamabad Police have devised a comprehensive plan to ensure patrolling at different sectors for the safety and protection of lives and property of the masses during Eid holidays. He urged the citizen to cooperate with the police in maintaining law and order and keep vigil in the areas.
Special security plan had been formulated for Faisal Mosque and walk-through gates and scanners would be installed at the entry points of the masque. The police will also be deployed at graveyards. Police teams have been constituted for patrolling in various urban sectors and rural areas. Keeping in view the rush of visitors at public places, special security measures have also been taken at Shakarparian, Daman-e-Koh, Yasmin Garden, Manal, Lake View Park, and Chattar Park.-PR
