KP CM for early completion of BRT Project

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan has directed for the accelerated completion of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project Peshawar adding that the project is solution to all the traffic congestion and would also a comprehensive design for the overall beautification and efficient services in Peshawar city. He was talking to members of provincial assembly that included Kamran Bangash, Fakhar Jehan, Asif Khan and provincial government spokesman Shaukat Yousafzai at his office Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar.
The Chief Minister discussed with the MPAs the overall developmental activities at Peshawar city adding that the MPAs should come up with the overall plan identifying deficiencies in different sectors in Peshawar city. He assured all out support to different projects in Peshawar. Regarding the Mega projects and BRT, the Chief Minister reminded that the Rapid Bus Transit is not a simple corridor but a comprehensive plan of overcoming traffic congestions and removing irritants in the smooth vehicular flow in Peshawar. This project would add to the overall beautification of Peshawar. He said that the project had different features that were unique in nature and other such projects in the country do not have these features. In addition, there would be feeder routes and entire remodeling of drain system. He directed the relevant quarters to remove all obstructions in the accelerated completion of this project.
Mahmood Khan stressed the need to improve the local government system developing its linkage with the developmental activities and the public welfare activities adding that his government would further strengthen the local government system so that the people of grass root level could have an easy access to the services at local level. The local government system would provide solution to basic problems and would give an immediate and accelerated relief to the poor.
He also directed for improved municipal services in Peshawar adding that the capacity building of the WSSP is a part of the priorities for Peshawar. The local government system representatives needed to have closer interaction with the company in order to ensure constant cleanliness activities in Peshawar.
The Chief Minister expressed his intention against encroachment adding that the anti-encroachment drive will continue and the roads narrowed down by these encroachments would be widened by removing these encroachments in order to ensure the unobstructed vehicular flow on these roads.
