The most-traded October aluminium contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed down 0.1 percent at 14,950 yuan ($2,189.06) a tonne on Thursday. It also hit a two-month high of 15,100 yuan in the previous session.
Shanghai copper closed down 0.3 percent. Shanghai lead was the biggest gainer, hitting its highest since July 16 and finishing up 2.3 percent on concerns of a tightening environmental crackdown in China.
