Punjab Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid has directed all Medical Superintendents of THQ and DHQ hospitals to ensure emergencies of their respective hospitals up to the mark within 15 days. She was chairing a meeting at Primary and Secondary Health Department, here on Saturday. Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Department Ali Bahadur Qazi briefed the Minister about revamping programme. "Revamping of DHQ and THQ Hospitals across the province must be expatiated", the Minister directed.
She also said that PITB may ensure that all help-lines for general public should be working and call center staff should well conversant so that people may be guided in fair manners. "No compromise on merit on recruitments and promotions in health department" she wowed.
While expressing her satisfaction over availability of free medicines at public health facilities she also warned that no lapse on free medicine availability shall be tolerated. Dr Yasmin also directed to implement family planning program in letter and spirit. "Robo Call Service is good initiative to provide health prevention advices" she appreciated but desired that this service should also be in both Punjabi and Seraiki languages as well. She expressed her displeasure on reported manhandling incidents at some public hospitals and warned that "either hospital staff mend their behaviour or look for another job". "The government shall not leave any stone unturned to enhance trust of general public on government health facilities" she concluded.
During the meeting enquiry report regarding Jhang Measles toll submitted to Minister Health by Deputy Secretary (Tech) Dr Yadullah. Dr Ayesha Saeed Special Secretary, Ammara Additional Secretary Admin, Fatima Sheikh Additional Secretary Development, Dr Shahnaz Nasim Additional Secretary Technical, Dr Ahmad Sadain Khalid Additional Secretary Vertical Program, Dr Munir Ahmad DGHS and all program directors of vertical programs were also present in the meeting.
