Sharjeel liquor case; three sent to jail on remand

A court here on Sunday sent three suspects to prison on judicial remand in a case pertaining to liquor recovery from PPP leader Sharjeel Memon's room in hospital. Police produced the accused - Muhammad Jam, Mushtaq and Shakar Din - before the court which sent them to prison on 14-day judicial remand.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar paid a surprise visit to Ziauddin Hospital in Clifton on Saturday morning where he found three bottles of liquor in the room of incarcerated PPP leader. Subsequently, Memon was shifted to Central Jail, Karachi and an FIR was registered against him. The Boat Basin police registered the case against Memon, his driver and two servants under Section 4 (possessing or owing intoxicant) of the Prohibition (Enforcement of Hadd) Order 1979.
