Prices of kitchen items witness mixed trend

A mixed trend in prices of important kitchen items was witnessed as some items have slightly increased while other remained unchanged in retail market, according to a survey conducted by Business Recorder here on Sunday. Price of live chicken/meat has decreased at Rs 97 per kilogram which was selling at Rs 105 per kg in the previous week. However, price of farms eggs have unchanged as available at Rs 90-100 per dozen in retail market.
Cow meat is being sold at Rs 400-450 per kilogram in retail market, mutton beef priced at Rs 750-800 per kilogram. A downward trend in prices of vegetable was noticed in retail market in the last week. Price tomato decreased at Rs 30 per kilogram against Rs 40 per kg. Also, price of onion decreased at Rs 30 per kilogram which was Rs 40 per kg.
Likewise, ginger is being sold at Rs 200 per kilogram which was selling at Rs 240 per kilogram. Garlic priced at Rs 100-120 per kilogram in retail market. Price of cucumber was remained unchanged as available at Rs 40 per kilogram. Green chili is being sold at Rs 80 per kilo, the survey noticed.
Arvi is being sold at Rs 60 per kilogram against the price of Rs 70 per kilogram in the previous week. Price of peas is costlier in retail market as available at Rs 200 per kilogram. Cauliflower is available at Rs 50 per kilogram, cabbage at Rs 40 per kilogram.Similarly, apple gourd, bottle gourd and ridge gourd prices range between Rs 80-100 per kg in retail market. Also, one-kilogram red-coloured potatoes are being sold at Rs 60 in the retail market, while white-coloured is available at Rs 30 per kg.
Price of food grains/pulses has remained stable in retail market, the survey noticed. One-kilogram good quality sela rice is being sold at Rs 150-155, while white coloured toota rice priced at Rs 80 per kg, while light red coloured toota rice is being sold at Rs 70 per kilogram.
A one-kilogram big-size white bean is being sold at Rs 150 per kilogram. Price of white lobiya decreased at Rs 110 per kilogram which was selling at Rs 120 per kilogram in the previous week. Red bean locally produced is being available at Rs 180 per kilogram while Chinese red-bean priced at Rs 120 per kg.
Dal chilka green is being sold at Rs 120 per kilogram, dal mash is being available at Rs 120 per kilogram, dal masoor at Rs 90 per kg, moonge at Rs 120 per kg. Price of one-kilogram dhoti dal increased at Rs 100 per kilogram which was selling at Rs 90 per kilogram in the last week.
Gram flour (baisen) is being sold at Rs 120 per kilogram. Sugar is being sold at Rs 54 per kg in the retail market. Prices of cooking oil/ghee of different brand/quality are remained unchanged in the retail market as available within range of Rs 150-170 and Rs 170 per litre/kg.
Fresh milk is being sold at Rs 120 per kilogram, yogurt also priced at Rs 120 per kilogram in retail market. The prices of fruits have still costlier in the retail market. Apples are being available at Rs 100 per kilogram, mango at Rs 80-100 per kg, grapes at Rs 100-120 per kg, guava at Rs 80 per kg, banana is being sold at Rs 50-60 per dozen in the retail market.
