Speakers urge people to support government for real change

Imran Khan has broken status quo but people should support him for brining real change in Pakistan through economic stability, broadening tax net, ensuring accountability, introducing good governance, free education, health and residential facilities, employment opportunities, etc. etc. Actions like end of discretionary financial powers, cutting non-development expenditures, economy drive and delegating financial powers to local government representatives for development schemes are appreciable steps of the new government.
These thoughts were shared by speakers in 62nd conference of Pakistan Visionary Forum held at TECH Society Club Lahore on Sunday on the topic of "People's expectations from the new government".
Speakers included former Secretary Foreign Affairs Shamshad Ahmad Khan, former Minister of State Qayyum Nizami, Dr Muhammad Sadiq, former Advisor IMF Khalid Mahmood Saleem, former Auditor General Punjab Jameel Bhatti, Dr Hasibullah, Jameel Gishkori, Zubair Sheikh, Mahmudur Rehman Chughtai, eminent Analyst Salman Abid, Professor Dr Atiya Syed, Chaudhry M Yaqoob and Dr Ikram Koshal.
Speakers said that we should not judge the performance of new government in just two weeks although people expect speedy actions as the problems were already known to the new government and they should have plans in place before taking over. Speakers also pointed out that the new government should introduce electoral reforms first to bring real change to avoid black mailing by small political parties in future.
