Moon of Muharram ul Haram 1440 Hijrah is expected to be sighted in Pakistan on September 11, and Ashura would be observed on September 21. This was stated by well known astronomer Professor Muhammad Hamza Naeem, retired Principal Government Postgraduate College Jhang, in a statement issued here on Monday. He said that the month of Zilhajjah 1439 Hijrah will be of 30 days and Muharram, first month of new Islamic Year 1440 Hijrah, would commence from September 12.
