Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Senator Faisal Javed on Wednesday said that Pakistan is marked at 147th number in Human Development Index out of 188 countries, which is based on life expectancy, education and decent living style.
While addressing a press conference, Javed said that overseas Pakistanis send $20 billion to Pakistan every year but unfortunately on the other hand almost $10 billion are sent abroad through money laundering.
He said that the PTI is focused and engaged in the eradication of money laundering so that money can be saved and spent on welfare of people of Pakistan. He said that austerity campaign has been adopted to regain public confidence in politics, as the previous political parties and leaders were indulged in corruption and money laundering.
He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has set an unprecedented example of austerity with an aim to reduce expenditures. He said that the cabinet members and the provincial governments of PTI are also following the Prime Minister's austerity campaign.
Javed said that Khan feels the pain of the nation, adding that he will steer the country out of the prevailing crises. The PTI leader said that the government is also on course to implement its one hundred day program. He said the Pakistanis will soon realize difference between the new and previous governments because the Prime Minister has clearly announced that there is no space for corrupt people in the government.
The PTI leader also exposed the lavish lifestyle of Prime Minister House. The video was shown by Javed and Iftikhar Durrani. They also showed how the PM has taken revolutionary austerity steps to make use of tax payers' money transparent. The government is determined to change governance in the country while focusing on austerity, anti-corruption and meritocracy.
Replying to a question, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Media Affairs, Iftikhar Durrani said that a committee has been formed to look into the constitutional matters pertaining to the long-term policies. Durrani said that luxurious vehicles of Prime Minister House will be auctioned on 17th of this month. According to the latest advertisement, the fleet for auction includes 27 bullet proof vehicles, several latest models of cars and some vintage vehicles.
