Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has vast opportunities for foreign financers to invest in various sectors including tourism, culture, sports and education, Senior Minister Muhammad Atif Khan said. Talking to UK prime minister's special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Gareth Bayley, who called on him, Atif Khan said peace had been restored and the foreign investors can now invest without any fear in the province.
The senior minister said 70 percent of tourist resorts of the country are situated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and there is immense potential for investment in tourism projects. He said tourism is a key driver for socio-economic progress and the importance of tourism cannot be denied even in today's modern world. He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has abundant tourist spots and tourism potential but they needed to be explored, developed and introduced at global level. The delegation also discussed matters pertaining to mutual interest and technical support to be extended by the DFID for promotion of tourism in KP.
