KGH centenary celebrations: free typhoid vaccination service launched

Kharadar General Hospital, on the occasion of 100 Years celebrations, a free typhoid vaccination campaign launched in collaboration of World Health Organization (WHO). Professor Dr A.G. Billoo inaugurated the campaign. While inauguration campaign he said due to the antibiotic resistance cases the typhoid is becoming epidemic and complicated and only few expensive drugs are available now which is very difficult to afford.
The newly launched typhoid vaccine can prevent this epidemic condition. The parents should vigilant about the water, food and hand hygiene of their children. Dr Khalid Iqbal, CEO Kharadar General Hospital shared his views on the opening session.
He said since 100 years Kharadar General Hospital is providing Quality Health Services, Education & Training & Research Activities which itself is and memorable & incredible achievement. Kharadar General Hospital playing active role in the humanitarian services and in providing quality health services which will always be remembered.
Aga Khan University, Associate Professor & Typhoid Research Scientist Dr Farah said this newly launched vaccine will protect children from 6 months till 10 years and will cover 10 years of life. This new conjugate Typhoid Vaccine services are available first time in Karachi and Kharadar General Hospital is honored to facilitate this newly launched vaccine from its platform.
On this occasion, Management Committee Member, Ms. Farhat Rasheed said that it is an auspicious occasion that on 100 years Kharadar General Hospital is able to provide free vaccination services for the Lyari Area. Town Health Officer, Dr Amanullah appreciated the services of Kharadar General Hospital and Said that Town Office will continue facilitating Kharadar General Hospital in saving human lives. Professor Dr A.G. Billoo inaugurated the services by giving vaccination to the Infant. Large number of children received the vaccination on first day of campaign which will be continue till 29 September 2018.-PR
