Despite the orders of Peshawar High Court (PHC) that had suspended both the elections as well as the operation of the executive committee of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), interim body of association is holding Annual General Meeting (AGM) today (Saturday).
A division bench of the Peshawar High Court on the petition of Ahmad Kuli Khan Khattak and Afan Aziz has suspended the elections and executive committee from operation. The order of the court has been dispatched to the central office, but the interim body is adamant on holding the AGM for declaration of results of the APTMA elections.
The members of the APTMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zone are accusing a powerful Punjab dominated lobby in the association for usurping the rights of the KP Zone. Last year, the zone was deprived of its turn to elect its chairman. The chairman of APTMA is elected on the basis of the formula of 3:2:1.
