Plan to open Swat, Chitral airports under consideration: MPA

PTI legislator from district Swat, Fazle Hakim has said that after the completion of Swat Motorway at the cost of Rs 34 billion, the government is also seriously considering the opening of Swat and Chitral Airports for not only domestic but also for international flights.
He was addressing a reception organised in honour of the newly elected cabinet of Swat Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SCCI) in Mingora. Newly elected president, SCCI, Yousaf Ali Khan, Noor Mohammad, Mehboob and other leaders of the trading community were also present on the occasion.
He said that the purpose of these steps of the government is not only the provision of modern travelling facilities to the locals but also the opening of routes of trade and businesses. He said that the people of Swat will soon hear good news in this regard.
The PTI MPA said that after the restoration of durable peace, now the opportunities of development are knocking the door of Swat and for its utilisation the trading and industrialist communities should complete prior preparation.
He said that Swat has vast potentials of the production of cheap hydel power, agriculture and tourism, adding that the provincial government is making sincere efforts in this regard. He said that next summer will be load shedding free in Swat and fast-track changes are being introduced in all sectors.
Fazle Hakim said that the golden era of Swat is coming fast, when new industrial units of manufacturing different products will be established in the area where thousands of people will get employment opportunities. These industries, he said will also bring visible increase in the exports of the province.
