The Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) Punjab has urged Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar to take notice of unequal wheat release policy of the provincial food department and resolve this issue at the earliest.
In a statement issued on Monday, PFMA Punjab Chairman Habib ur Rehman Leghari said that the provincial food department had issued wheat release policy by virtue of which private parties lifting wheat from government godowns at Rs 1300 per maund are not bound to submit any detail of disposal of that wheat. Nevertheless, flour mills which would be provided wheat under the same policy had to submit grinding details on monthly basis. Besides, flour mills are also bound to submit their electricity bill on monthly basis too.
They said that millers had severe reservations on such an unequal policy and it may further complicate the aggravated situation being faced by the flour milling industry.
