Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday sought the details of identical cases in various high courts regarding Prime Minister Imran Khan in response to a petition, seeking his disqualification as member of National Assembly for submitting a "false" declaration with the nomination papers to contest the General Election 2018.
A division bench headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar sought the details while taking up the petition of Abdul Wahab Baloch, who contested election against Imran Khan in NA-243. Baloch contended that Imran Khan didn't mention about his girl child in his declaration for contesting general election.
Bench directed the petitioner and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to submit all the documents related with the cases in various high courts of the country of identical nature of the petition, filed in SHC.
The bench ruled that it would issue an order on the petition after going through the cases being heard in other high courts. "Bench should be informed what orders were issued by High Courts in Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar when identical petitions were filed there," the bench declared.
