Business Recorder op-ed writer Farhat Ali has done this government a great favour. Based on his life-long experience he has suggested to the PTI government ways and means to fix the country's economy in a meaningful but honest manner. Insofar his painstaking effort is concerned, he has penned as many as seven articles of his ongoing "PTI govt's 100-day plan" series so far, covering almost all facets of country's economy in a highly scholarly manner. Our economic managers are expected to look into his diagnosis of economy and the measures that he has outlined in order to arrest the slide.
In his last op-ed, Farhat Ali has plausibly argued that the "incumbent government's recently published policy statement that it will first fix PIA, Pakistan Steel and other loss-making SOEs and then consider whether or not these should be privatised on good prices however raises questions about government's approach to the challenge of loss-making entities."
